The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education is responsible for meeting the continuing education needs of pharmacists. Between 1989 and 2004 I produced and scripted annual videos (and latterly CD-ROMs) summarising the evidence underlying therapeutic developments. This started as a not-so-simple cut and edit job using manufacturers' promotional videos but I developed the project into a comprehensive learning tool, comprising interviews with senior clinicians and including a booklet which summarised the evidence and included self-assessment questions.
As part of the open learning course on diabetes I recorded interviews with people with diabetes and health professionals involved in their care to explore their views on management. The interviews are available on the CPPE website to pharmacists registered for this course.
I also produced a videos for CPPE commissioned by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society as part of its programme to introduce CPD, and a CD-ROM on the use of minor ailments with a special focus on internet resources.
